The tea party.

It has to be said that holding or attending a tea party is pretty much a rite of passage for every Brit out there! Not only do we love our tea but we also love getting out the finest crockery and dressing up to feast on sandwiches and sweet treats. You can either visit the Ritz to enjoy some fine afternoon lunching (busting your bank at the same time) or you can simply hold a party yourself and that is exactly what my younger sister did today. Next weekend she is turning 19, not exactly a milestone age but what is the point in having a birthday if you are not going to celebrate!? My mother and aunt baked A LOT of food and we set the dining room table up with tea cups, saucers, cake stands and an array of delicious goodies. We then danced for 2 hours to Disney songs with our younger cousin who is only 3 and filled our stomachs with tea and cake until we felt sick. All in all it was a pretty fantastic day.

I really need to sort my hair out!

My darling sister

What a Weekend.

Hello everyone, I've had a fairly exciting weekend and just thought I would update you all considering I like to class this as a lifestyle blog as well as a fashion one. First of all my aunt and uncle visited from Holland and my sister and I went to meet them for drinks at a local hotel in our town. We sat and talked for hours about life and what's happening, slipping in a cheeky glass or two of Sauvignon Blanc. My aunt showed us a photo album of her apparent children she has picked up whilst staying in their apartment in Spain - by that I mean she has adopted five feral cats! They were all beautiful though and we more modernly shared photos of our recent activities via our phones. My uncle, who is native to Holland, joked around with us and told us of his excitement at the world cup starting in a few weeks - apparently they are both going to spray their hair orange! Time flew too fast however and eventually we had to leave to go to dinner with our mother.

Today was the most exciting day of all as I picked up my new car - a jade green KA - I unfortunately don't have any pictures to show as of yet, but I will get one soon. Before we picked that up we went to Millets Farm Center near Oxford and trawled around looking at flowers and buying tasty farm food. I took a couple of pictures of some flowers which you can see below, I adore flowers and find them so inspirational that I couldn't help myself.

When we had finished here we went to get my car and after having a quick coffee stop I drove myself all the way home which was about a 40 minute drive! Considering I don't have a full license yet I was mega proud of myself and so I thought I had best let my readers know! I am now currently watching Star Wars Return of the Jedi with my boyfriend and eating left over Chinese food, a rather fitting end to a wonderful weekend. That is all for now, I hope you all had a fantastic weekend, back to good ole' 9-5 tomorrow!

Current.

I'm so slack on posting lately, but as i said in the last post i am mega busy! I had my first proper consultation today for freelance work - i am making my aunt's wedding dress! I am feeling a mixture of emotions ranging from excitement to pressure, i want it to be perfect! We have had a few conversations to talk about what she wants and i went with her when she tried dresses, today however was when we sat down and looked at samples and drawings and i sketched what she wanted. We have agreed on a final design and i am very pleased with it. A picture unfortunately is not available, not until after the wedding....i will however be posting updates along the way! Previously i have made my uni work and i made my sister's prom dress, but this is the first big piece of work i have had in awhile and i can't describe how i'm feeling, but it feels good.

The only other thing i have to post about today is the illustration i'm currently doing, it's only an edited doodle but i think it's alright!

One Month Anniversary.

My blog has been up and running for a month now and i've already had over 1000 pageviews! So i just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been reading it and we'll see what the future brings! Oh and i added a picture of some beautiful flowers i saw last weekend, enjoy!

Feeling Tropical.

For someone who dresses in so much dark clothing i've developed a real bad appetite for tropical prints recently. I think it's the influence of the sun coming back into dreary old England as well as the thought that June-July-August (my three favourite months!) are only a short wait away. I'm also learning to drive again, which at the grand old age of 21 is a touch overdue really, but a licence means unlimited beach trips in the summer and i can't wait! I've included some garments on my 'Feeling Tropical' wish list that really sell the idea of cocktails and sandy beaches to me and would add a little sunshine to my own wardrobe!

Personalising.

Happy Thursday guys, just one more day until Friday!

So as you can probably now see i have added a banner to this page, i spent hours yesterday finding the perfect font and taking pictures of this bouquet in my room that my boyfriend gave me. Swoon.

I cut out some of the flowers on an image editing program and created my beautiful banner! I had a play around with the flower pictures to create a few styles and ideas, but this was by far the best one.

I'll be posting more later on, so keep your eyes peeled! Oh and i've had quite a lot of page views in the last 3 days so i want to say a massive thank you to everyone who took a little time out to view my blog.

Much love! xox
