Outfit Of The Day #6
Shirt - George @ Asda
Jeans - New Look
Boots - Topshop
Tote Bag - Primark
This isn't quite my outfit of the day as it is from yesterday, but that doesn't really matter does it? Cool, well this was on the way back from work as i had to go in for a few hours, boo! It wasn't all bad though as the UK is nice and sunny at the moment so the walk home was lovely. Pretty much everything apart from the jeans were bought last year, but i'm all about recycling clothes - none of this wear once rubbish for me! I have also dyed my hair to have a slightly red tint to it, though i didn't realise at first that it is only semi permanent hair colour, ah well. It also needs a good cut but i'm not sure what to do with it, ideas anyone?
Outfit Of The Day #5
Shirt - charity shop
Jeans - Primark
Shoes - New Look
Bag - George @ Asda
My boyfriend and I are having a lazy day today, hence the rather simple outfit. We are just going to eat food and watch films due to lack of money, however it is one of my favourite ways to spend my weekend. I picked up this shirt a few weeks ago in a charity shop for the grand price of £5 - I know, splashing the cash right!? I used to buy a lot of my clothes in charity shops especially in university when money was very tight, you can find some real gems if you don't mind searching through the rails. You also get to justify your shopping habits with the simple explanation that you are also giving money to charity, which feels good right? Exactly. The other thing that I would like to point out in this outfit post is that i am not wearing boots! Shock horror! I know! Surprisingly I don't only own black boots, I own 100 other pairs of shoes as well it's just that boots always seem to get me through the unpredictable English weather. When the sun finally decides to stay for awhile you will start to see a wider selection in my wardrobe pickings.
Feeling Tropical.
For someone who dresses in so much dark clothing i've developed a real bad appetite for tropical prints recently. I think it's the influence of the sun coming back into dreary old England as well as the thought that June-July-August (my three favourite months!) are only a short wait away. I'm also learning to drive again, which at the grand old age of 21 is a touch overdue really, but a licence means unlimited beach trips in the summer and i can't wait! I've included some garments on my 'Feeling Tropical' wish list that really sell the idea of cocktails and sandy beaches to me and would add a little sunshine to my own wardrobe!
Haul.
Obviously a major part of visiting your friends in another city is to go shopping! Especially when you've just been paid.....oh yeah. We were breaking our backs getting final pieces stitched together and after it was all shown to an industry panel we decided to take a little time to ourselves to go out and spend some hard earned money. Pretty sure we spent 6 hours trawling around every store we could find, but it was so worth it!!! Now one store that i need to commend for their current selection is H&M (two posts in a row!) there was sooooo much that i wanted, it was hard to just put it down to a few items otherwise i would have been busting my bank account. Regrettably, not all the money in there is for clothes, sigh. Here's what i bought -
Now you can probably tell i have a large soft spot, or maybe just a complete infatuated love for cats! I used to buy everything i saw that had a cat on it, however i have since trained myself to stand back and mull it over first. That being said i did buy two things that pay homage to our furry friends. The t shirt is far too cute to handle and i felt like i needed something a little more fun in my wardrobe and the bag came in a choice of black or leopard print. I went for the latter due to my collection of black items, i have far too many and i'm pretty sure my mother would disapprove at the thought of another black bag in our house. The blouse you can't see so well but it is sort of a snake print, i just thought it would be something sophisticated for work.
Moving on, we also took some time to look in some beauty stores where i purchased some new nail varnishes and also received a free No.7 gift set, yay! As well as some hair clips and some lipcote, which keeps your lipstick on fantastically. I spent so much money on everything i almost lost count but i'm pretty pleased with my new items, not so much getting them home however. My suitcase was already very heavy, oops.
H&M w/ Alexander Wang.
Source: Vogue.Fr
So as everyone is now aware H&M announced at Coachella that their next designer collaboration is with none other than - drum roll - Alexander Wang. Now, I am very excited about this collaboration as i feel this is going to be one of their most marketable. We all know Mr Wang for his sleek sportswear collections, containing staple pieces that can be re worn and re worked into a number of different outfits and this is where i believe H&M have bounded onto the right track. If previous seasons of his own name brand are anything to go by, then we can assume that in November H&M stores will be stocked with a collection that lends pieces to all styles and tastes. After all, sportswear is stripping fashion back to it's basics...but in a cool and sophisticated kind of way of course! I think i speak for all fashion lovers when i say that i am excited for a slice of urban New York style to spice up my wardrobe and a piece of Alexander Wang innovation at a cut price!
P.S I couldn't help myself with that picture, it's fantastic!
Outfit of The Day #4 - Casual.
Jumper - H&M
Jeans - Primark
Boots - Topshop
Bag - H&M
We've been super busy this week getting my friend's collection ready, yeaaaahh i only helped one in the end. In my defence my other friend wanted to get his done alone and to his standard, i did sew a few buttons for him though. I have a lot to post but i will start with an outfit post from today, it is finally sunny so i don't need a jacket, hurrah! You'll be pleased to see a lack of stripes though i'm still living in black jeans, i really need more colour in my life! Enjoy!
Outfit of the Day #2 - casual
Top - Topshop (old)
Skirt - Topshop (old)
Boots - Topshop (old)
Bag - George @ Asda
So i convinced my mum to take a picture of my outfit on the way to the doctors today, good news is that i am getting better and i will be back at work next week, however i do have to go to hospital next week as well for some tests. It's good news really though because we are seeing progress. On to the outfit - it is going to become increasingly apparent through my outfit posts that i'm a bit of a sucker for stripy tops, i'm not sure why though. Most of the items i'm wearing are old but the jacket and bag are fairly new, i love my jacket so much and it was a bargain from TK Maxx £30! Excuse the face in the last photo as well, i was concerned by my mum's shaky camera skills...
Style Crush - Emma Watson.
Can we just take a moment here to talk about Emma Watson and her absolutely enviable wardrobe? She's been lighting up the red carpet at the Berlin, NY and Madrid premieres of new film - Noah, as well as flaunting her classic style at press conferences and The Letterman Show. You cannot deny that this girl is the epitome of English rose and is becoming, if not already, an international fashion icon. What I find most appealing about her is that she dresses with a certain class that can be pulled off by few people her age - one which does not make her look older. Watson still looks fresh and youthful and sexy without baring too much flesh or adding any shock value to her looks (Miley Cyrus take note!). And it's clear that she's a valued member of the best dressed alumni seeing as she's dressing in garments hot off the catwalk that aren't even available to us mere mortals at the moment e.g. the J Mendel jumpsuit. I'm really loving the monochromatic outfits teamed with kick of pink/red lipstick, it just carries them all of and really accentuates her beauty. Let's face it, the girl knows how to dress and she knows what suits her. There's not much more I can say without gushing so much that my words turn to mush so I will leave it here and let you enjoy the photos of this fashion queen in the making.

Primark Swimwear 2014.
If you like to watch your pennies, just like I do - damn savings! - Then I can imagine you are the type of person who loves a good deal and a cheap find. Well, everyone loves a bargain right? On logging on to my emails today I noticed one from Look magazine announcing Primark's new swimwear range. Now, I have always been a bit on the fence with Primark, they have some well-designed products and they have some that just fall apart. Then there is the extremely tacky stuff that frankly makes me question their hiring process…
That being said they have definitely made their mark on the industry and you can't deny that with time they are creating more and more appealing products. Their new swimwear range certainly shows that they've been doing their research on what the customer wants and that they still value diversity of customer as well. Their range is vast enough that there is 'a little something for everyone'. I’ve noticed there isn't a particularly concise theme running through this collection, but that is expected of Primark and it does give you more of a choice in what you want to buy. They've pretty much tried their hand at every single pattern and fabric possible as well and I can definitely see some key pieces coming forward that will go down well with those going on summer holidays this year. After all, you don't want to take an expensive swimsuit to Malaga, you want about 10 bikinis you can feel comfortable trashing as you know you'll be wearing them everyday! Not to mention, you want to know they look good and more so that you look good and this is where Primark hits the nail on the head and what it is loved for. Cheap, fashionable, and throwaway clothing. Above are my favourite pieces from the collection.
It ranges from £7-£10 for a bikini or swimsuit, to see the whole collection see Look's article - here. All pictures are from their website.
Leather Love.
I was recently looking for a coloured leather jacket, but i couldn't find exactly what i wanted and after posting about Haim's style yesterday i found myself compelled to search again. I had a browse through some of my favourite websites as well as having a good google session and i have found the most perfect pink leather jacket possible! To say i am in love with this jacket is an understatement - it is perfect - the only problem that i face now is lack of funding. Damn my bad health and inability to go to work! I am determined to get this jacket but sadly i may have to let it go. Sigh. The others are just some beauties that i came across on various websites, the black Topshop number is a jacket that i have admired and lusted after from afar for awhile. The R13 jacket is a fantastic example of your traditional motorcycle jacket with an high fashion edge, it's something that i cannot afford but a little eye candy never went amiss. I'm feeling ripped jeans and plain tees or floral dresses with these jackets to liven up a Spring/Summer wardrobe. Who needs fussy little cardigans ladies, when you can rock up in your leathers!?
Style Crush - Haim.
We have Virgin Media TV at home and whenever my younger sister has the controls she morphs into a sort of DJ putting on all her favourite music videos on demand. I have to hand it to her she has a pretty good music taste, it definitely beats my mother blaring Magic radio station at high volume. Her usual playlist includes the subject of this blog post - Haim. I'd tell you all about how awesome a band they are with their rather catchy songs and seductive vocals, but let's all face it - we aren't just listening to their music we are looking at what they wear. My best word to describe their fashion style is grunge, but not a dirty i-haven't-washed-in-a-week-i-just-threw-this-on look, they still pull it off with a level of class that keeps your eyes on them. It's a mix of dark colours, denim and copious amounts of leather - i dream of day when i own that many leather jackets! And that's why they are on my fashion crush list and i wish i was best friend's with all of them so that i could cheekily borrow a few things! Oh and lets not mention the budding hair envy that i have...
